About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Programmer to join our team on Dead By Daylight. As a Backend Programmer, you will be a vital member of the development team, responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining the functionality of our backend systems. You will work closely with various internal stakeholders and customers to successfully complete the development and optimization of new and legacy features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new server features and maintain existing code base;
  • Write specifications before undertaking the development of new features;
  • Diagnose and solve problems to improve code robustness;
  • Work closely with other programmers to provide gaming server-compliant services;
  • Develop and perform functional and load testing;
  • Optimize the code, considering the live and online status of the game.
Requirements
  • You have at least 15 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Experience developing high-speed server applications using JavaScript;
  • Experience and knowledge of the REST and WebSocket communication protocol;
  • In-depth experience and knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, MySQL, or other);
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of data modeling with a focus on performance and maintenance;
  • Experience in load testing with distributed load generators;
  • Bonus point: Development experience in a Linux environment;
  • Bonus point: Web application development experience with React and/or Angular;
  • Bonus point: Experience profiling and optimizing server systems (network, CPU, memory, IO);
  • Bonus point: Server/client development experience, including security and network traffic management.
