About the Opportunity

The University of Toronto Libraries is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Head of the Engineering and Computer Science Library. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of academic librarianship and contribute to the University's mission of excellence in research and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Engineering and Computer Science Library, aligning with the University's goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement innovative services and programs to support the research and teaching needs of the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering and the Faculty of Arts and Science.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and students to ensure that the library's services meet their evolving needs.
  • Oversee the management of the library's collections, including selection, acquisition, and preservation of materials.
  • Lead a team of librarians and support staff to deliver exceptional customer service and support the library's mission.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in academic librarianship and apply this knowledge to improve library services and programs.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in library, archival or information science from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a library or related field.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of the engineering and computer science community and the ability to develop and implement services to meet those needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and make decisions that align with the University's goals and objectives.
