Senior Technical Artist: Rigging Specialist

At Rockstar Toronto, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Artist: Rigging to join our team and contribute to the development of our titles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, create, and maintain complex character rigs, secondary motion, and animation systems.
  • Engage in research and development of new techniques for driving skeletons, blendshapes, and custom deformers.
  • Collaborate with Character Artists and Animators to provide support and address feedback.
  • Work with other departments to improve authoring workflows and animation/graphics systems.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or professional experience in the game industry.
  • Demonstrated skills in creating motion controls for animation, complex deformation, and skinning of body and face of characters and creatures.
  • Strong Python, Mel, or Maxscript skills, as well as C# programming skills.
  • 3D Math background and experience using game engines.
  • Effective communication, self-management, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of game engines and experience creating Animation scripts/tools.
  • Experience creating assets and pipelines using Houdini in production.
  • Experience with C++ and source control software.
  • Professional experience working in a multi-platform, multi-project environment.
