Job Title: Educational Assistant

Chinook School Division No. 211 is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a team member who can assist with the educational program of selected students, improving their instructional learning opportunities. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of a teacher, supervising students in the classroom, play, lunch, or rest area, and during recreational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students in a one-to-one or group basis
  • Assist with life skill activities, such as dressing, eating, toileting, and transportation
  • Provide designated disabled students with assistance in developing gross and fine motor abilities and basic life skills
  • Exercise judgment in modifying student behavior, restraining, directing, disciplining, and rewarding students within pre-established guidelines
  • Assist assigned students with reading, speech, assignments, tests, and comprehension of presented curriculum, based on the student's Personal Program Plan
  • Promote the vision, mission, principles, and goals of the Chinook School Division

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, and an ability to work in a team environment
