Pediatric Nutrition Specialist
BC Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to critically ill or injured children and youth from across British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments of pediatric patients to identify their nutritional needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide nutrition support and education to patients and their families.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate nutritional goals and care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Prescribe and manage nutrition support regimes, including enteral and parenteral nutrition, as needed.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an academic program in dietetics approved by the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
- Three (3) years recent, related clinical experience in pediatric nutrition and nutrition support in an acute care setting, plus Nutrition Support Certification for Clinicians (CNSC) from the American Society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition (ASPEN) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Full registration in the College of Dietitians of British Columbia, with Restricted Activity A, B, C.
