Vertex is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our team. As an Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for managing and executing upstream oil and gas and industrial projects in accordance with Vertex guidelines and project scopes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute environmental projects, including reclamation and remediation, in accordance with Vertex guidelines and project scopes.
  • Develop and implement work plans and cost estimates for environmental projects.
  • Conduct site assessments and monitoring programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise light-duty reclamation work and ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop and implement effective environmental solutions.
  • Mentor and coach junior environmental staff to ensure their professional development and growth.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or higher education in environmental sciences, biology, or a related field.
  • Professional designation or in-training designation applicable for conducting professional sign-off in Saskatchewan.
  • Minimum 3-7 years of environmental work experience in Phase I and II program execution, remediation, reclamation, groundwater monitoring, spill response, and detailed site assessments.
  • Project management experience, including cost estimates, scheduling, budget tracking, and client interactions.
  • Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
