Job Description

We are seeking a skilled QE Automation Engineer to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a QE Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for effective planning, executing, automating and tracking functional tests in the ARCHER portfolio - maintenance releases or projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create test plans, test cases and test scripts based on requirement documents and business User Stories
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using test automation tools
  • Execute test cases (manual/automated) document test results and raise defects whenever necessary
  • Work with JIRA, Confluence, qTest for test case management, defect management, test reporting and other functions
  • Participate in agile ceremonies like, Sprint planning, grooming sessions, stand-up meetings, demo sessions, and retrospective meetings
  • Participate E2E and integration testing
  • Participate in defect triage and Scrum meetings

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a QA/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (Cloud, distributed and mainframe, business workflows and services/APIs, databases)
  • Good knowledge of QE Processes, Testing Life Cycle, SDLC and Defect Management processes for application testing, development and support with hands-on experience in creating test cases, executing manual/automated test cases
  • Knowledge of Testing Methodologies with hands on experience on JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience in Micro Service testing, Kafka and API testing
  • Experience in test automation frameworks/tools e.g., (Robot Framework, SoapUI or ReadyAPI, Postman, Selenium, UFT/Lean UFT/RestAssured/, TestNG) and development languages (e.g.Python, Java, etc.)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps Tools such as Jenkins, GIT, etc
  • Database technologies (e.g. MongoDB, DB2, Oracle, SQL, IMS) and SQL experience
