Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team at ESSO. As a key member of our sales floor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating cash registers, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate cash registers accurately and efficiently, handling customer transactions with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Scan items promptly and accurately, ensuring that customers receive their purchases correctly.
  • Tabulate total payment for goods or services required, providing change as necessary.
  • Receive payment for goods or services, verifying amounts received against sales totals.
  • Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales, identifying any discrepancies.
  • Suggestive selling to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Stock shelves and clean the counter area regularly, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for customers.
  • Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with finding products or answering questions.
  • Wrap or place merchandise in bags, taking care to ensure that items are properly secured and protected.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor all entrances and exits, requesting proof of payment when necessary to prevent shoplifting and ensure accurate sales tracking.
  • Participate in promotional activities and maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and product offerings.
  • Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products, adhering to company policies and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Must be willing to work on-site, as this position requires physical presence at the store location.
