The Community Engagement/Resource Manager provides strategic leadership by overseeing all community engagement initiatives and special events, ensuring effective volunteer coordination for the Ministry Unit, and directing mission partners in the Community/Family Services and Food Bank operations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure CFS and Food Bank services operate effectively, meeting client/guest needs and adhering to government contractual agreements and Salvation Army standards.
- Reflect and apply Alberni Valley Ministries' general philosophies and policies to staff, clients/guests, donors, visitors, and other agencies.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to deliver safe, relevant programs promoting dignity and respect for those served.
- Completion of a formal post-secondary/college diploma program (2-3 years) in a social service or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in a social service field is highly desirable.
- Training/knowledge in budget development, supervision/leadership, conflict management, addictions, and mental health.
- Must pass a vulnerable sector screening and possess a valid class 5 Driver's License and clean driving abstract.
- Ongoing maintenance of an active Occupational First Aid Certificate.
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience in social services working with diverse communities and marginalized individuals facing poverty and food insecurity.
- Minimum two years of management experience; volunteer coordination experience is preferred.
- Strong administrative skills are essential.
- In-depth knowledge of local community resources and the social service sector.
- Demonstrated cultural competency working with Indigenous communities and service agencies.
- Proven flexibility and creativity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
