**Job Description**

This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can administer human resource programs, policies, and functions while ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a unionized environment and possess excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

**Key Responsibilities**

  1. Administer attendance management programs to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies.
  2. Oversee short-term disability and long-term disability claims processes, ensuring early and safe return to work for returning employees.
  3. Coordinate with the EHS department, OSI, and WSIB regarding workplace injuries to minimize lost time claims.
  4. Develop and maintain employee wellness programs to promote a healthy work environment.
  5. Assist with other HR duties as required.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Management, Human Resources, or Administration, or equivalent experience and/or training.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant government legislation, including the Employment Standards Act and Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • High level of competence with standard office equipment and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
