**Job Description**
This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can administer human resource programs, policies, and functions while ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a unionized environment and possess excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Administer attendance management programs to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies.
- Oversee short-term disability and long-term disability claims processes, ensuring early and safe return to work for returning employees.
- Coordinate with the EHS department, OSI, and WSIB regarding workplace injuries to minimize lost time claims.
- Develop and maintain employee wellness programs to promote a healthy work environment.
- Assist with other HR duties as required.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Post-secondary education in Business Management, Human Resources, or Administration, or equivalent experience and/or training.
- Experience working within a unionized environment.
- Excellent understanding of relevant government legislation, including the Employment Standards Act and Ontario Human Rights Code.
- High level of competence with standard office equipment and software.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
