**Job Overview:**

HURON PERTH HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team. As a valued member of our inter-professional collaborative team, the successful candidate will provide direct quality and safe personal care in accordance with patient's respective care plans.

**About the Role:**

This regular part-time position offers 8 or 12 hour shifts, Days/Evenings, 7 day/week coverage, may be subject to change. The ideal candidate will possess excellent critical thinking, problem solving and conflict management skills, as well as time management and organizational/prioritization skills.

**Responsibilities:**

The PSW will work collaboratively with regulated healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct personal care to patients, including assistance with ADLs such as personal care, toileting, feeding and recreational activities
  • Taking vital signs and accurately documenting, communicating abnormal findings
  • Assisting patients with transfers and ambulation
  • Reporting any patient difficulties with chewing, drinking and/or swallowing
  • Meeting the physical demands of the position

**Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Personal Support Worker certificate from an accredited Ontario Community College or a Registered Private College
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Recent hospital experience preferred
