About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analyst to join our team at Arup. As a key member of our Specialist Technology, Analytics and Research (STAR) team, you will be responsible for undertaking numerical analyses using first-principles methods to solve our clients' most difficult challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and report linear and non-linear, static and dynamic structural finite element analysis, principally for structural and geo-engineering applications (e.g. earthquake, wind, and vibration analysis).
  • Conduct studies to understand the risk posed by natural hazards and the physical threat of climate change.
  • Collaborate with other structural engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and risk consultants on innovative buildings and infrastructure projects.
  • Work on defined tasks under the supervision of a senior engineer.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a 4-year bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Fundamental knowledge of structural mechanics, dynamics, and/or risk modeling, as appropriate.
  • Basic understanding of computer programming and/or coding experience.
  • Interest in the built environment and the design of sustainable infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cover letter included in application submission.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • A MS or PhD in engineering is desirable but not required.
  • Proficiency in non-linear finite element method analysis.
  • Experience or familiarity with the built environment, i.e. buildings, transportation infrastructure, and other civil infrastructure.
