Job Title: Anaesthesia Assistant

Job Summary:

The Anaesthesia Assistant will provide high-quality support to the Department of Anaesthesia in a busy operating room environment. The successful candidate will assist with case preparation, monitor anaesthetized patients, and administer medications as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient assessment, positioning, and intubation
  • Monitor anaesthetized patients and administer medications as directed
  • Ensure proper performance and maintenance of anaesthesia-related equipment
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with the perioperative team
  • Schedule expectations include 24-hour shifts, weekends, and on-call duties

Requirements:

  • Certified Anaesthesia Assistant
  • Member in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario or the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current certifications in NRP and
  • Minimum three years of experience as an RT or AA
  • Ability to teach Respiratory Therapy students
  • Superior organization and project management skills
