Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at Kingpin Const. & Reno Ltd. as a Hardwood Flooring Installer. The ideal candidate will have experience in inspecting, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered, as well as preparing flooring plans and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Prepare Surfaces: Inspect surfaces to be covered, measure and mark them accurately, and prepare them for installation.
  • Read and Interpret Plans: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and prepare flooring plans.
  • Install Flooring: Install hardwood floors, inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, and conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations.
  • Estimate and Prepare Materials: Estimate costs and materials, prepare floors for installations, and remove existing floor coverings and contaminants.
  • Install Materials on Counter Tops and Raised Platforms: Install materials on counter tops and raised platforms, including vinyl decking materials.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physical Demands: The job requires physical demands, including handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Personal Suitability
  • Client Focus: The ideal candidate will have a client-focused approach, strong judgement, and be organized and a team player.
Experience
  • Experience Required: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, permanent position.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
