  • Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Dynacare. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in processing blood samples and other laboratory specimens, entering requisitions and results accurately, and providing exceptional customer service to create a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specimen Processing: Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients using skillful venipuncture techniques, in accordance with Dynacare's mission and values.
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter patient and test information for Ministry of Health requisitions.
  • Patient Care: Provide empathetic and caring support to patients in stressful situations, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Quality Control: Ensure specimens and supporting documentation are completed as required, following established protocols for handling suitable and unsuitable samples.
Requirements
  • Education: Completed Secondary School and a Laboratory Assistant training program or a Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized training in phlebotomy.
  • Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, at a level that enables clear communication with patients. Ability to prioritize and self-manage in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Personal Qualities: Customer-focused with a genuine care for patients' health, demonstrating empathy and kindness in all interactions.
