The Saskatoon Service Centre of ANDRITZ Separation is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee daily shop floor activities, ensuring efficient production processes, meeting targets, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe work environment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supervising hourly personnel to ensure smooth operations
  • Expediting critical jobs through assembly, testing, and inspection processes
  • Identifying bottlenecks and allocating resources to optimize production flow
  • Maintaining high-quality work skills and adhering to company standards
  • Collaborating with planners, QC personnel, and superintendents to meet customer requirements
  • Providing input on delivery schedules and target achievement
  • Directing manpower and material to achieve >90% on-time delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with OH&S regulations and enforcing company rules using progressive discipline
  • Staying updated on process knowledge and equipment
  • Maintaining preventive maintenance and 5S programs with scheduled audits

In selecting candidates, we will look for:

  • A high school diploma
  • Minimum five years of experience in an industrial setting
  • Tradesman certification preferred; welding/CWB experience considered an asset
  • Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A strong work ethic, trustworthiness, and dependability
  • Above-average problem-solving abilities and ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within a short timeframe
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read manufacturing drawings
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

  • Four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, with a 3:30 pm start time
  • This is a salaried, out-of-scope position
  • Approximately 90% of worktime spent in the shop, 10% in office settings

The salary for this position is approximately $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and regional cost of living.
