Sommelier Extraordinaire

Job Summary:

Toptable Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sommelier to join our esteemed wine and service team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with an extensive selection of iconic wines and rare labels, while contributing to the development of our world-class wine list.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead by example, delivering exceptional customer service and hospitality to our guests.
• Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of wine, including food and wine pairings, terroir, and wine production methods.
• Consult with guests to assist in selecting wines that meet their preferences and dietary requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of wine inventory, cellar, and storage areas, ensuring optimal storage conditions and minimizing waste.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with wine vendors, agents, and wineries, ensuring seamless supply chain management.
• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver a memorable beverage experience, inspiring staff to provide exceptional service and attention to detail.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of previous management experience in a high-end restaurant or wine establishment.
• Level 3 WSET certification or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with guests, staff, and vendors.
• Superior conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
