We are seeking an experienced Marble Mason to join our team at RevitaStone Granite & Quartz Countertops. This is a permanent position that requires the individual to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, measuring and marking surfaces to be covered with marble or granite tiles
  • Mixing, applying and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowels
  • Preparing rough plans and sketches for tile layouts
  • Setting tiles in place and applying pressure to affix them to the base
  • Aligning and straightening tiles to ensure a professional finish
  • Preparing tenders and quotations for clients
  • Cutting and fitting tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Instructing apprentices on the proper techniques for working with marble and granite
  • Packing grout into joints between tiles and removing excess grout
  • Removing and replacing cracked or damaged tiles
  • Supervising other workers to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standard
  • Laying and setting mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs
  • Building underbeds and installing anchor bolts, wires and brackets
  • Cutting, surfacing, polishing and installing marble and granite
  • Estimating costs and materials for each project
  • Mixing, laying and polishing terra surfaces
  • Installing tile strips
Requirements

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate must have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the trade
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to distinguish between colours
  • Attention to detail
  • Hand-eye co-ordination
  • Ability to lift heavy loads
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
