Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer Assistant to join our team at PCL Industrial Management Inc. The successful candidate will assist with project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Review and verify drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Coordinate work-specific scope and trades to ensure effective project execution.
  • Verify material quantities, hours, and rates to ensure accurate project costing.
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Submit requests for information to ensure timely resolution of project issues.
  • Input and update deficiency logs to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Produce as-built drawings to document project completion and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs to ensure accurate project estimating and budgeting.
  • Conduct safety inspections to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate changes to craft personnel to ensure effective project execution.
  • Set up and maintain record-keeping systems to ensure accurate project tracking and reporting.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical or civil major.
  • Strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to apply various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated.
Working Conditions
  • Successful applicants must provide their own CSA-approved steel-toed boots and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test.
  • Our Fabrication Facility is not easily accessible by public transportation, so the successful applicant will need access to a vehicle.
