Job Summary

The Construction Officer is a key member of the Southern Health-Santé Sud team, responsible for the coordination and supervision of various capital projects. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise capital projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and specifications.
  • Work closely with primary consultants to supervise and administer construction projects.
  • Monitor and inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman Tradesman or equivalent certification in Project/Construction management.
  • Completion of a Certified Engineering Technology Program or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in major construction and project planning and management.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, building and fire codes, and related regulations.
  • Proficiency in computerized accounting applications and project management software.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Conditions of Employment
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and liability insurance.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and respect confidentiality.
