Water Operator II Role

The City of White Rock is seeking a skilled Water Operator II to join their Engineering & Municipal Operations Department, Water Treatment Division. This dynamic team member will be responsible for performing diverse field and technical work related to the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the water treatment plant systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform water quality and sampling, and lab analysis to ensure the adequacy of the drinking water supply system.
  • Monitor and control process systems, and evaluate and manage residuals.
  • Assist with the operation of SCADA to monitor system-operating data, and create and maintain operating records.
  • Respond to emergency alarms and calls from the public related to water services.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by technical courses related to the work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • EOCP Water Treatment Level II certification.
  • EOCP Water Distribution Level I certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety precautions and hazards applicable to the work.
  • Working knowledge of the water treatment and distribution system.
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine system operating issues and provide related information and assistance.
What We Offer:
