Job Title: Woodworking Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team at Secure Mailing Systems Inc.

Job Summary:

The Woodworking Specialist will be responsible for performing various woodworking tasks, including preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, assembling and joining wood components, and installing windows, doors, and other fixtures. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes: Using measuring tools, prepare accurate layouts for construction projects.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials: Measure and cut wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials according to project specifications.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems: Construct foundations, install floor beams, and erect walls and roof systems for residential and commercial buildings.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware: Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware for new constructions or renovations.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites: Plan and schedule work on construction sites to ensure efficient completion of projects.
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and renovations on residential and commercial properties.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience: Possess a degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Physical abilities: Be physically fit to perform manual labor tasks, such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Problem-solving and adaptability: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:

The Woodworking Specialist will work primarily on construction sites, often in outdoor environments, and may be required to work at heights or in confined spaces.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
