We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Claims Manager MIG, Accident Benefits to join our team in Mississauga. As a key member of our Accident Benefits Claims operation, you will play a critical role in the successful management of our claims process.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement business plans to achieve key business goals
- Provide effective leadership and motivate staff to achieve high performance
- Coach and develop technical and professional skills for team members
- Develop and recommend management and organizational initiatives to support company strategies
- Act as a consultative and advisory expert on claims matters
- Liaise with other claims experts on technical and administrative issues
- Maintain a respectful and productive business relationship with vendors and internal client groups
- Minimum 5 years' work experience in claims handling or prior management experience
- Proven leadership skills and experience in performance management and developing staff
- Experience leading change initiatives with impacts to large groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of provincial legislation governing auto insurance
- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
- Bilingual English and French is considered an asset
- Completed or are working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
