About the Role
  • As a skilled Upholstery Specialist at Precision Design & Manufacturing, you will play a key role in the repair and refurbishment of furniture.
  • Responsibilities include laying out, cutting, fabricating, and installing upholstery, as well as replacing worn-out webbing, springs, and other furniture parts.
  • You will also be responsible for tacking, gluing, or sewing ornamental trim, braids, or buttons, and repairing furniture frames and refinishing wood surfaces.
  • Additionally, you will operate sewing machines or sew by hand, and have the opportunity to specialize in antique furniture and furnishings, automotive interior, marine cabin interiors, and other furnishings.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities require attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, and the ability to distinguish between colours, as well as a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
