Impact Officer

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is partnering with the Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF) to find a highly skilled Impact Officer to join their team in Halifax, NS.

The ASF is a leading science and advocacy organization focused on the conservation of wild Atlantic salmon. With a newly established strategic plan and a comprehensive conservation and fundraising campaign, they are poised to achieve their goal of being the global leader in wild Atlantic Salmon conservation and applied research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage tasks and duties, including comprehensive correspondence, speech writing, and researching.
  • Lead the process of creating and submitting proposals for grant funding.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the office.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Respond to communications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and update administrative systems to make them more efficient.
  • Support team projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of Canadian environmental laws, public policy, and Indigenous treaty agreements.
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • A positive, energetic, and can-do attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
