Job Title: Distinguished Engineer, Platform Memory Subsystem Architecture

Lenovo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distinguished Engineer to lead the development of platform memory subsystem architecture. This role will be responsible for designing and delivering best-in-class memory subsystem solutions that meet the needs of Lenovo's customers.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in memory technologies and a proven track record of leading development efforts. They will work closely with industry leaders, ISG solution and performance teams, and other distinguished experts to advise on system architecture design from memory and memory subsystem perspectives.

The ideal candidate will have experience with memory topologies ranging from single socket servers to 8 socket servers, and a deep understanding of error correction algorithms and memory controller design at the RTL level. They will also have knowledge and experience with statistical analysis of DIMM failure rates/modes, participation in JEDEC, and future memory technologies.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead the organization's knowledge and expertise on the latest memory technologies and trends, proposing a technical roadmap to ensure ISG's leading position.
  2. Work closely with industry leaders (platform/memory), ISG solution and performance team to advise on system architecture design from memory and memory subsystem perspectives.
  3. Drive common portfolio level memory subsystem architecture and provide deep expertise on memory RAS feature planning and implementation from controller, memory supplier, and platform design perspective for ISG server products.
  4. Work with a team of other distinguished experts in firmware, I/O, power, thermal, etc. to lead the memory subsystem architecture and design, and to conduct research and lead proof of concept for future memory subsystem technologies.
  5. Work hands-on with ISG's Quality Team to ensure the highest degree of memory subsystem reliability for current and future products that meet Lenovo's commitment to customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  1. 15+ years' of work experience with hands-on on volatile memory related development and 5 years in architecture leadership role.
  2. Experience with memory topologies ranging from single socket servers up to 8 socket servers.
