Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Paladin Security. As a Security Officer - Rapid Response, you will be responsible for providing a uniform security presence at various City of Brampton locations, including the Rose Theatre, City Hall, Civic Centre, and other Downtown Brampton facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and report all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazardous situations
  • Unlock and lock doors and offices
  • Provide access control
  • Provide a uniform security presence within various locations and customer service areas
  • Deterring and enforcing prohibited acts such as loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding, and cycling
  • Ensure the buildings are secured after hours
  • Complete patrols with the use of an electronic guard tour
Requirements
  • Minimum one year of security experience
  • Minimum one year of security guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment
  • Dispatch and mobile experience is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as customer service skills
  • Valid Security License for the Province of Ontario
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Valid Ontario G Class Driver's License
  • Able to provide a three-year clean driver's abstract
  • Physical demands include excessive walking, standing, exposure to all weather conditions, and extreme temperatures
  • Utilize two-way radio and computer applications
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required
  • Bilingual and multilingual applicants are preferred
  • Must participate in professional development and on-site leveling system requirements
  • Must be flexible with shift availability
  • Previous experience or training within a loss prevention/security field is preferred
  • Must complete all required site training within 30 days of on-site hire date
  • Additional job-related tasks and duties as assigned
  • Successful completion of CPO certification within the first six months (training material and course cost covered by Paladin)
