Main Responsibilities

As a Signalling Test Specialist at Alstom, you will be responsible for preparing and executing testing activities for railway signalling technologies under the direction of your hierarchy and in conformance with ALSTOM Transport policies and standards.

You will develop and review Test & Commissioning (T&C) procedures for the signalling sub-system and against contractual requirements.

Additionally, you will execute specific Field Testing activities according to the testing procedure/documentation and Team Leader/a/o Project Commissionning Manager (PrCOM) instruction.

You will adhere to Testing schedules and Testing plans for internal and external customers.

Furthermore, you will perform Field Test & commissioning activities with quality while meeting customer, Safety expectations and project schedule.

Experience

We are looking for a candidate with at least 4+ year working in the Rail signalling industry with knowledge of USRC Signal Maintenance experience.

Direct Experience with the Metrolinx system and operating environment is a must.

Knowledge of conventional rail signalling (fixed block) and other signalling testing elements is considered an asset.

You should be able to read and interpret Book of Plans and engineering drawings.

Experience in interpreting engineering drawings (i.e. Book of Plans, Schematics, Relay Logic) is also required.

At least 3 years hands-on testing experience with signalling systems and/or complexity as functional tester in a similar role is necessary.

You should be experienced in writing/checking Test procedures, technical reports and communicating at Technical & Managerial Team levels.

Experience with projects and customers under Transport Canada and Canadian Transportation Agency is also required.

Knowledge of Canadian Railway Operating Rules is considered an asset.

Metrolinx Personal Track Safety certification will be an asset.

Working Knowledge of Metrolinx Rail Corridor Access Request procedures will be considered an asset.Qualifications

You should hold a Diploma/Bachelor's degree in engineering technology (electrical/computer/computer science).

A valid driver's license with a clean record is required.Behavioral and Technical Skills / Competencies

You should be available to work on variable work schedules (nights/weekends/Statutory Holidays) to support installation/testing activities.

You should be flexible and mobile, available for short or long mission in different locations and countries.

You should be rigorous in performing T&C activities.

You should be disciplined with attention to detail.

You should be proactive and efficient to promptly solve technical issues and anticipate all technical difficulties.

You should be a team player and customer oriented with emphasis on getting the job done.

You should have an aptitude for self-learning and taking important notes as part of the learning/documenting process.

You should adhere to all applicable regulations, customer rules and professional standards (including EHS).

You should be punctual, reliable, responsible and eager to share knowledge/expertise.

You should be able to perform responsibilities with minimal direction/supervision from superiors.

Work location could be across Metrolinx different Corridors and flexibility to travel is a requirement.Desirable Skills/Certification

Knowledge in Metrolinx Operating Rules and USRC Signal Maintenance experience is desirable.

Previous field experience on Metrolinx projects in USRC & Kingston Sub-division would be an asset.

Experience with ALSTOM process and procedures is also desirable.

Experience with ALSTOM equipment's is also desirable.

Working experience in installing and adjusting GM-4000A switch would be an asset.

CROR, Working at Heights, First Aid & CPR training would be an asset.
