About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Manager to join our team at Swift Connect INC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the overall management of our farm, including the maintenance of equipment, the management of staff, and the determination of crop and livestock production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and Improve Farm Infrastructure: Ensure that all farm equipment, buildings, and facilities are well-maintained and in good working condition.
  • Lead and Manage Farm Staff: Recruit, hire, and supervise a team of staff and/or volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of the farm.
  • Develop and Implement Farm Plans: Determine the types and quantities of crops to be grown and livestock to be raised, taking into account market trends and customer demand.
  • Monitor and Control Farm Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the farm, including the management of resources, the monitoring of crop and livestock health, and the implementation of best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: A college or CEGEP degree in a relevant field, such as agriculture or business.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in farm management or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Attention to Detail: The ability to maintain accurate records and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.

  • Organized: The ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Work Term: Permanent position.
