At De Novo Treatment Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our counselling staff, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome addiction and achieve long-term recovery.



About the Role

  • This is a permanent, full-time position requiring a 40-hour workweek.
  • You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of our residential treatment centre team.
  • As a Substance Abuse Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality counselling and therapy services to clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and treatment plans, and monitor client outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Provide therapy, support, and guidance to clients, and work collaboratively with other team members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including interviews, case history reviews, and problem identification.
  • Record and maintain accurate, up-to-date client records, and participate in regular case conferences.


Requirements

  • Certification as a Canadian Addiction Counsellor (CAC)
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and community partners.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
