Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Tsilhqot'in Language and Culture Teacher to join our team at School District #27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin). The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Tsilhqot'in Language and Culture to students in a full-time continuing position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Tsilhqot'in Language and Culture to students in a classroom setting
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and overviews to meet the needs of students
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Work collaboratively with the school team to support student learning and achievement
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Professional Teaching Certificate
  • Oral and written fluency in Tsilhqot'in Language
  • Knowledge of traditional activities and culture
  • Successful experience working in a classroom
  • Ability to produce, use, and organize resources for class
  • Ability to assess, evaluate, and give feedback to students and parents
