Job Summary

Cosentino is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Montreal, QC. As a key member of our EHS team, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and organization of our environmental, health, and safety program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, development, and implementation of our EHS program, including training employees on EHS compliance, conducting safety inspections, and analyzing workplace risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure EHS activities are sustainable and compliant with regulations.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, spill response plans, and disaster preparedness plans.
  • Facilitate the development of EHS goals and objectives.
  • Develop an ergonomic program involving a multi-functional team.
  • Evaluate and examine new products, hazardous materials, facility modifications, product manufacturing changes, and equipment/machine installations to ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
  • Regularly visit manufacturing facilities, distribution sites, and offices in the US, Canada, and Mexico to ensure all sites are compliant with EHS laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Manage complex EHS functions, such as workplace safety/ risk analysis, EHS training, workplace incident analysis, industrial hygiene evaluations, ESS inspections, regulatory environmental reporting, permit negotiation, data collection/analysis, and internal audits.
  • Assist management in obtaining and maintaining health and safety records, permits, licenses, and required documents.
  • Work with our EHS headquarters in Spain to coordinate efforts with the Cosentino group.
Requirements

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years of professional experience in environmental, health, and safety management or close collaboration with EHS issues in a manufacturing and distribution multi-state environment.
  • Two years of practical knowledge of federal and state regulations in environmental, health, and safety, including CNESST, LCPE, SIMDUT, ISO, and ergonomic practices. Knowledge of US and Mexican regulations would be an asset.

FORMATION

  • Required: Certified Safety Professional or similar professional title in the safety field, such as Associate Risk Manager.

CONNAISSANCES

  • Required: Proven skills in applying health and safety regulations at work and related policies, standards, and objectives.

COMPÉTENCES

  • Required: Communication: oral and written. Ability to interact with multiple levels in all facets of commercial industry projects.
  • Required: Solid planning and organizational skills.
  • Required: Ability to effectively perform and manage billing activities.
  • Required: Solid presentation skills.
  • Required: Ability to work efficiently, independently, and as a positive team member.
