Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Prototype Engineer to join our team at Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting. As a Co-op Prototype Engineer, you will be responsible for fabricating parts, tooling, and fixtures from CAD and drawings, while ensuring quality and meeting customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate standard toolroom equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Read and interpret drawings and GD&T.
  • Fabricate parts and tooling from CAD and drawings.
  • Resolve problem situations and take corrective action.
  • Inspect parts and tooling to ensure quality and customer requirements.
  • Support engineering experiments and evaluations by building or modifying fixtures and components.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform welding duties as required.
  • Follow all CTC rules and procedures.
  • Follow Magna's Code of Conduct & Ethics and related compliance policies.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Working towards a college diploma in a Manufacturing field.
  • Basic machine shop training.
  • Basic CNC machine skills.
  • Basic working knowledge of welding (MIG & TIG).
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Time management and organizing skills.
  • Detail-oriented, problem-solving, multi-tasking, self-motivating, and analytical skills.
