About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Test Specialist to join our team at CAE. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing project engineering test plans, carrying out engineering testing assignments, and ensuring the calibration and integration of the visual system.

The Role We Are Offering You:

  • Prepare project engineering test plans to ensure the successful execution of flight simulator testing.
  • Carry out engineering testing assignments, utilizing your knowledge of flight simulator simulation techniques and aircraft systems.
  • Responsible for the calibration and integration of the visual system to ensure accurate and realistic simulation.
  • Make maximum use of computer tools to perform engineering testing, analyzing data and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Report test results and provide recommendations to project teams to assess project risks and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Use aircraft technical documentation to provide engineering support to software developers, test pilots, and customers.
  • Prevent snag migration prior to customer acceptance by identifying and actively participating in the resolution of defects as early as possible during project execution.
  • Participate in simulator qualification, ensuring that our flight simulators meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Represent CAE for simulator qualification issues, communicating with qualification authorities to clarify regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Undertake independent analysis and provide recommendations to improve software and hardware development processes.
  • Respond to customers' training-related needs in a courteous and timely manner, ensuring that flight training equipment is consistently reliable and available.
  • Perform logistical/administrative duties as required, including standardizing the capacity to start the simulation and performing diagnostics and cold starts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge of internal procedures (manufacturing, software, etc.) is an asset.
  • At least three years of relevant experience (knowledge of aircraft systems, pilot license, etc.).
  • Ability to learn and apply skills in the flight simulator environment to maintain and operate all required equipment.
  • Strong customer focus and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly for technical information.
  • Able to work alone or as part of a dynamic technical team.
  • Experience in flight simulator or aviation environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of simulator systems, international regulations for flight training devices, and the aviation/aerospace business is an asset.
