About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Carpentry Apprentice to join our team at Golderado Contracting Corp. As a key member of our team, you will assist experienced carpenters in various aspects of construction, including renovation, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in reading blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty, and outdoors environments
  • Ability to handle heavy loads, work with minimal supervision, and meet tight deadlines
