Student Art Gallery Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Student Art Gallery Curator is a key role at York University, responsible for supporting the Manager in the curation of gallery space, exhibitions, and events. This position requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of exhibitions and events
- Provide administrative support to the Manager, including data entry, record-keeping, and correspondence
- Collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to promote the gallery and its events
- Develop and maintain relationships with artists, galleries, and other cultural institutions
- Contribute to the development of exhibition concepts, artist statements, and other promotional materials
Requirements:
- Enrollment as a York University student
- Relevant visual arts courses preferred
- Previous work experience may be considered
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a gallery or museum setting
- Knowledge of art history, theory, and criticism
- Skills in graphic design, photography, or other visual arts
