At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Room Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Operating Room Technician will provide patient care using the Nursing Process, in accordance with CLPNA, ORNAC, and CSA standards of practice. The successful candidate will demonstrate competence in delivering safe, effective, and efficient care in both a scrub and circulating role, as an integral part of the surgical team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe care according to the Perioperative Nursing Care Plan, throughout the patient stay in the Surgical Suite.
  • Promote the professional role and evaluate their own professional education and clinical practice standards.
  • Act as a patient advocate and provide a link between the units and the Operating Room.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

What We Offer:

Alberta Health Services offers a comprehensive Perioperative training program, from Grant MacEwan University, followed by a full-time orientation at AHS FMC Operating Room. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, providing surgical interventions for over 22,000 patients yearly.
