Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our team at the Fraser Health Authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess clients referred to the Wound Care Clinic and collect information from various sources using skills of observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment.
  • To make a nursing diagnosis of the client's condition and determine whether the condition can be improved or resolved by an appropriate nursing intervention.
  • To plan, perform, and evaluate nursing interventions and care.
Requirements
  • CURRENTLY REGISTERED AS A REGISTERED NURSE WITH THE BRITISH COLUMBIA COLLEGE OF NURSES AND MIDWIVES (BCCNM)
  • ONE (1) YEAR OF RECENT RELATED EXPERIENCE WITH WOUND CARE OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Skills and Abilities
  • ABILITY TO COMPLETE INITIAL AND ONGOING PATIENT ASSESSMENT (CLINICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC REASONING) AND PROVIDE NURSING CARE THROUGH APPROPRIATE/PRESCRIBED TECHNICAL, THERAPEUTIC, SAFETY TYPE INTERVENTIONS
  • CLINICAL PROFICIENCY WITH WOUND CARE BEST PRACTICES
  • ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH CLIENTS, FAMILIES/CARE GIVERS, THE PUBLIC, MEDICAL STAFF, AND MEMBERS OF THE INTERPROFESSIONAL CARE TEAM USING VERBAL, WRITTEN, AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION MEANS
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 per hour. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including four weeks of vacation to start, comprehensive health benefits, and pension plan.
