We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Caregiver and Support Services Associate to join our team at one of our long-term care homes in Oshawa, Ontario.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional care and support to seniors, and are looking for a rewarding career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

About the Role

The Caregiver and Support Services Associate will work closely with residents, nursing staff, and other interdisciplinary team members to provide quality care and support services, including resident programming, companionship, portering, housekeeping, meal service, and clerical duties. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

* Provide quality care and support services to residents, including resident programming, companionship, and meal service.
* Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by performing housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and dishwashing.
* Operate independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

* Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience.
* Previous experience working with older adults an asset.
* Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to stand, walk, squat, reach, and lift for significant periods throughout the shift.
