Design Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to lead our Rail and Transit projects. As a key member of our Engineering Design Organization, you will be responsible for delivering complex station projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Lead multi-disciplinary project delivery teams to produce compliant and constructible designs.
- Ensure design processes align with client requirements, operation and maintenance needs, and construction requirements.
- Coordinate quality control of deliverables and manage the engineering design budget.
- Develop and verify technical project scope, work with subject areas to provide pricing, and initiate design activities.
- Participate in schedule preparation and alignment with the Project Controls team.
- Implement and follow the project's Change Control system.
- Ensure fluid communication between project management, design, construction, and internal/external partners.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Member of the PEO or OAA in Ontario.
- Design management experience on LRT projects in Canada.
- Project delivery experience in alternate project delivery methods (P3, DB).
- 7+ years of design management experience on large multi-discipline engineering teams.
- Understanding of depots, stations, electrification, and signaling.
- Knowledge of scheduling software, engineering estimating techniques, and BIM.
- Ability to deal with uncertainty, changing priorities, and strong communication skills.
