About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to lead our Rail and Transit projects. As a key member of our Engineering Design Organization, you will be responsible for delivering complex station projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project delivery teams to produce compliant and constructible designs.
  • Ensure design processes align with client requirements, operation and maintenance needs, and construction requirements.
  • Coordinate quality control of deliverables and manage the engineering design budget.
  • Develop and verify technical project scope, work with subject areas to provide pricing, and initiate design activities.
  • Participate in schedule preparation and alignment with the Project Controls team.
  • Implement and follow the project's Change Control system.
  • Ensure fluid communication between project management, design, construction, and internal/external partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Member of the PEO or OAA in Ontario.
  • Design management experience on LRT projects in Canada.
  • Project delivery experience in alternate project delivery methods (P3, DB).
  • 7+ years of design management experience on large multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Understanding of depots, stations, electrification, and signaling.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software, engineering estimating techniques, and BIM.
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty, changing priorities, and strong communication skills.
