We are currently seeking a temporary part-time Speech Language Pathologist supporting our acute adult inpatient units and Rehab Day Hospital (RDP). The successful candidate will provide Speech Language services as part of an interdisciplinary care team on our acute inpatient medical, surgical unit and rehabilitative units/outpatient clinics.

The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is looking for a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our Allied Health Services team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and develop your skills in acute care Speech Language Pathology practices.

A strong ability to identify, assess, evaluate, treat, and manage communication impairments and/or swallowing disorders is essential for this role. You will also need to possess excellent education skills related to managing dysphagia and communication impairments.

This position requires a Master's Degree Specific to Communication Sciences and Disorders Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent, current registration with the College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario (CASLPO), and MBS Imp certification or willingness to complete within 3 months of hiring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Speech Language services as part of an interdisciplinary care team on our acute inpatient medical, surgical unit and rehabilitative units/outpatient clinics
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with communication and swallowing disorders
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the presence and severity of communication and swallowing disorders
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree Specific to Communication Sciences and Disorders Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
  • Current registration with the College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • MBS Imp certification or willingness to complete within 3 months of hiring
  • Evidence of continuing education in acute care Speech Language Pathology practices
