Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation & Controls Specialist (PLC) to join our team at API Delevan, Inc. as a Switchgear Application Specialist - Field Service Expert. This is an exciting opportunity for a technical expert to work with our team and contribute to the success of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to field service technicians, customers, and internal teams on switchgear products, including commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance.
  2. Field Service Expertise: Offer technical support over the phone or in-person at site to the field service team, following a scientific step-by-step process to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  3. Documentation and Communication: Capture data and troubleshooting steps concisely and accurately to facilitate effective communication to internal and external parties.
  4. Method of Procedure (MOP) Development: Develop and implement MOP guidelines for each site trip/project, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery.
  5. Quality and Safety: Ensure comprehensive understanding and compliance with all company policies, emphasizing adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
  6. Customer and Vendor Relationships: Build, develop, and maintain exemplary customer and vendor relationships while maintaining a high level of quality and technical service.
  7. Training and Development: Provide and deliver technical training programs for customers and/or employees on new and existing products.
  8. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product engineering/design teams, to address customer inquiries and issues.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Experience: 10+ years of technical experience in the Power Generation Industry (or similar industry) and 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, upgrading, and retrofitting electrical distribution systems.
  3. Skills: Exceptional technical written and verbal communication skills, ability to multitask, and ensure follow-up on multiple competing priorities.
  4. Technical Knowledge: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of PLC and HMI programming, and ability to interpret detailed electrical and mechanical schematics and ladder logic programs.
