Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Caregiver and Support Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will provide support and coaching to individuals diagnosed with ASD, ensuring their quality of life is enhanced. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team, and a solid understanding of ASD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as primary liaison with family, medical, educational, leisure, and recreational contacts.
  • Provide support and coaching in social skills, communication, and leisure activities.
  • Solutions to barriers impacting achievement of quality of life, ensuring Personal Outcomes are met for each individual.
  • Administer medication as per procedure.
  • Follow Behavioural and Crisis Protocols as documented.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, supports, and community members.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Human Services Diploma from a recognized Community College or University, or a Personal Support Worker certificate from a Community College or registered Private Career College, and 1 year of related experience; OR
  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School (or equivalent) and 5 years of related experience.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

The successful candidate must have the ability to physically support adults with ASD and complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification.

Compensation Package

Educational Salary Range: $44,000 - $55,000
