Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply fertilizers to crops to promote healthy growth
  • Use the technique of hoeing between rows to control weeds and prepare soil for planting
  • Clear fields of wood and stones to ensure safe and efficient harvesting
  • Cut agricultural crops at the optimal time to ensure maximum quality
  • Hand harvest vegetables and fruits, taking care to handle them gently to prevent damage
  • Harvest seedlings and transplant them to larger containers or directly into the field
  • Pack fruits and vegetables into crates or containers for transportation to market
  • Sort fruits and vegetables by type, size, and quality to ensure they meet our high standards
  • Write daily basic progress reports to keep management informed of our activities
  • Clean the work area regularly to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry as needed
  • Examine products for quality and readiness for market
  • Work a regular 30-hour week, with opportunities for overtime as needed

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset, but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical ability to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects
