Job Title: Utility Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Utility Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Bouchier. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the smooth execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and water trucks, in a safe and effective manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, as directed by legislation and company policies.
  • Read, countersign, and enter comments into daily operator logbooks.
  • Complete and document pre-operational checks on assigned equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and secured.
  • Participate in job hazard assessments, field-level risk assessments, and line-up meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Site Superintendent.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years' experience operating heavy equipment with a GPS system.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to lift and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work shift work.
  • Safety-conscious attitude.
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019).
  • WHMIS 2015.
  • TDG – Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
  • OSSA Confined Space Entry and Monitor.
  • Ground Disturbance.
  • First Aid.
  • H2S Alive.
  • Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol and a Fit for Duty Test.
  • Fluent English language skills.
