Senior Civil Structural Engineer - Infrastructure Expert

At FNX-INNOV, we're a multidisciplinary engineering company with a passion for innovation. Our team of experts is dedicated to creating solutions for the future, and we're looking for a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our Energy team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop foundation, structural, building, and civil engineering plans for electrical transmission and distribution substation projects.
  • Prepare work plans and tenders for new projects, collaborating with technical staff.
  • Supervise and develop junior/intermediate engineers and technicians.
  • Participate in ongoing customer relations, inspections, and site interventions.
  • Design feasibility and detail engineering plans for electrical infrastructure.
  • Perform interventions in terms of surface and underground work.
  • Follow up on the preparation of civil engineering plans and specifications.
  • Design structural steel and concrete drawings according to 3D analysis and design codes.
  • Supervise CAD technicians in the preparation of drawings.
  • Supervise structural inspectors in the preparation of inspection reports and repair designs.
  • Prepare specifications for buildings, foundations, and structural work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum ten years of professional experience in civil structural engineering.
  • Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
  • Experience in energy sector's infrastructure, structures, and buildings.
  • Familiar with building codes and major design codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with structural engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and BIM software.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Effective organizational and report writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, good sense of priorities, and attention to details.
  • Have initiative, good observation skills, curiosity, and ingenuity.
