Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Permanent Full Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at MyHealth Centre. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, including bone, brain, thyroid, liver, spleen, hepatobiliary, renal scans, and lung.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient identification, safety, and preparation procedures are correct before starting nuclear medicine examinations.
- Ensure relevant patient history is documented.
- Inform supervisor, or designated person, of unusual or abnormal cases.
- Set up and adjust nuclear medicine equipment, maintaining established protocol.
- Monitor supplies and notify supervisor of shortages.
- Perform radio pharmaceutical preparation and quality management.
- Perform bone, brain, thyroid, liver, spleen, hepatobiliary, renal scans, and lung.
- Perform I131 thyroid treatments, Bone Densitometry scans.
- Perform Gallium scans, RBC liver/spleen scans.
- Perform Venograms, dacrocystograms, and testicular scans.
- Perform Rest and stress MUGA's.
Requirements:
- Current and valid Certificate of Registration with the Association of Medical Radiation Technologists of the relevant province.
- Knowledge and proficiency in general nuclear medicine procedures.
- Maintain current CPR and First Aid certificate.
- Maintain competence in position by attending staff meetings.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, good command of the English language, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work varying shifts and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Self-evaluate performance, establish personal objectives, and participate in yearly staff performance review.
