Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Indigenous Mental Health to join our team. This role will focus on supporting the development and implementation of Ontario Health's Mental Health and Addictions First Nations, Inuit, Métis, and urban Indigenous (FNIMuI) Strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience working in the healthcare sector, with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with FNIMuI communities and peoples. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning and facilitating projects to develop quality improvement strategies and foster MHA COE initiatives
  • Working closely with clinical experts, conducting needs assessments and surveys, performing literature reviews and environmental scans, developing education and evaluation tools, and contributing to presentations and publications relating to projects
  • Supporting the development and implementation of the CoE's mental health strategies in alignment with the development of Ontario Health's Indigenous Health Strategy, while ensuring the Indigenous partners have an ongoing and sustainable voice in the delivery of mental health and addictions services
  • Working closely with the Indigenous Health Equity and Coordination team in the development and coordination of provincial and regional Indigenous partnerships and initiatives
  • Supporting all aspects of project management, including identifying and effectively communicating with relevant stakeholders, managing project documentation, driving agendas, and providing input in a collaborative setting to develop and implement strategies to foster quality improvement

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field
  • At least 5 years of experience working in the healthcare sector, with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with FNIMuI communities and peoples
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates who possess the following qualifications will be given preference:

  • Experience working with small to medium-scale strategic projects related to the mental health and addictions field
  • Demonstrated successful project management and change management experience
  • Experience partnering with internal and external stakeholders to advance the quality agendas
