About the Role

Fitch Ratings is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Analyst to join our team as an Associate Director in the Utilities and Midstream sector. As a key member of our North American Corporates Group, you will be responsible for providing in-depth analysis and insights to support our credit rating decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality of companies in the Utilities and Midstream sectors;
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support credit rating decisions;
  • Conduct meetings with industry management teams to gather information and insights;
  • Present analysis and recommendations to internal credit rating committees;
  • Communicate rating rationale to external audiences through research reports, press releases, and conference calls;
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments in the Utilities and Midstream sectors;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of credit rating decisions;
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of the Utilities and Midstream sector team.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in credit analysis or a related field;
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with expertise in Excel and Word;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset;
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an MBA or other advanced degree a plus;
  • CFA/CPA or CFA candidate preferred.
