About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrogeologist to join our team. As a Hydrogeologist, you will be responsible for providing source water protection, performing risk management inspections, and leading programs to protect drinking water sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement technical studies and strategies to identify vulnerable areas and drinking water threats.
- Develop policies and procedures related to source water protection.
- Support the Risk Management Official in conducting risk assessments and inspections.
- Provide hydrogeological expertise and support to planning initiatives.
- Develop and enhance groundwater quantity and quality monitoring programs.
- Appear as an expert witness at hearings and tribunals.
- Recommend the hiring of outside consultants and monitor their work.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve concerns from the public.
Requirements
- University degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registration as a Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer.
- Successful completion of provincial certifications for Risk Management Inspector and Section 88 Property Entry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards, Acts, By-Laws, Regulations, and guidelines.
- Working knowledge of best management practices and industrial environmental management systems.
- Familiarity with hydrogeological databases, modelling, and analysis techniques.
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies.
